Sir,

I have just been re-vaccinated by Dr Gill (locum tenens for Dr Forbes of this place) and have been informed by him that I ought to consider myself his patient for the next fortnight. The school term there lasts just a fortnight longer. In view of the fact that I shall be away for 6 years, I should like a fortnight more in which to visit my numerous relatives and friends. In a month from this date, therefore, not later than Aug 16th, I shall be fully and completely prepared to sail. If this length of time cannot be allowed me, I shall, of course, be ready to sail when I am ordered to do so. I shall feel deeply obliged for the earliest possible intimation of my date of sailing.
